The President of Lazio, Claudio Lotito is now under fire after a few words that the Italian entrepreneur said concerning certain clubs in Serie A and Serie B in Italy. Lazio’s Stefano Pioli is envisioning placing the Italian club into a European spot that will allow Lazio on competing either on the Champions League or the Europa League for the next season.

In order for Pioli to accomplish this mission, Lazio will need to secure a top 5 spot in Serie A and the possibility of Pioli’s squad achieving their objective is real with Lazio currently positioned in 5th place.

On November 3, Lazio claimed a convincing 4-2 triumph over Cagliari and Stefano Pioli was ecstatic with his clubs’ dominating victory.

Lazio managed to get a much-needed victory against Sassuolo in the Italian Serie A just before the international break. Lazio not only put behind the disappointing opening day defeat against AC Milan but they also got their first win of the season against Cesena during the weekend. The 3-0 victory sees Lazio up and running in Italian Serie A for the season. Speaking after the match, new Lazio manager Stefano Pioli says that the entire team at the club are committed towards improving the results in order to satisfy the fans. Lazio fans are known as one of the most demanding especially due to the intense rivalry with Roma.

Italian outfit Lazio have revealed that they will not consider selling striker Miroslav Klose at any price in this transfer window. This coupled with the irresistible form of their arch rivals has not been good for its manager. Lazio came nowhere near enough the top six positions, which would have given them at least Europa league football. As a result, it is highly speculated that Reja would lose his job before the start of the new campaign.

Lazio failed to make the most out of the match against Hellas Verona after only drawing 3-3 against relegation threatened outfit. This meant that, they are now facing the prospect of missing out on European football. Despite this, manager Edy Reja has stated that he is confident that the club will be able to secure the Europa league spot in the remaining one match of the season. For most of the match it looked like Lazio would suffer a shock defeat, but Stefano Mauri scored a late goal to secure a point for his team.

Only the top five teams are capable of qualifying for the European competitions. Inter currently occupy the final fifth place with 55 points on the board. After a change in management in the last few months, Lazio have been picking up form. Reja says that he does not doubt that the club will be able to put up a challenge for the top five in the rest of the season.
