Simone Inzaghi Happy with Lazio Returning to Winning Ways

Lazio returned to winning ways in the Italian Serie A after a brilliant 6-2 win over Pescara.

The victory is undoubtedly made possible as a result of managing a 1-2 win over Inter Milan a few days ago. Simone Inzaghi watched his team secure this crucial victory in the Coppa Italia to erase the memories of back-to-back losses in the league. Prior to this game, Lazio were defeated 2-0 by Juventus and 1-0 by Chievo. These were massive setbacks for the team in the hopes of finishing in the top three. Qualifying for the Champions League is now extremely important for the club, as they do not want to see the likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan recovering their former glory days.

In the last few years, the absence of these two clubs for the Champions League qualification places has allowed the likes of Lazio and Napoli to take the game to the next level. Prior to the loss against Juventus, Lazio came into the game with just two defeats in over three months of action.

This kind of form was a major factor in the club becoming proper top three contenders. Marco Parolo was the star of the show against Pescara as he came up with four goals. The result keeps in the team for points behind Napoli, who have a game in hand.

"We had a difficult moment, but then we recovered and made the match ours. We had a look at ourselves at the end of the first half and we began to play again as we know we can.We did well and deserved the victory. We have 43 points and there are four or five we have lost along the way. I am happy to coach this team.I have congratulated Parolo. For us, he is a very important player as well as the goals,” said Inzaghi.
