LAMPARD KEEN ON LAZIO

The Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard would jump at the possibility of joining the Italian club Lazio according to his agent.

The 34-year-old England international is out of contract at the end of the season, while there has been no talk of a new deal with the European champions. Despite being out of contract, Lampard has had a huge influence on the Chelsea team. His 11 year association with the club is expected to come to an end this season with many clubs across the world rumoured to be interested in his services.

Due to the fact that he is still able to play top-flight football in England, it is thought that Lampard will be interested in moving to a top European club before moving to places like the United States and China. Lazio have been rumoured as one of the potential destinations of the player. The Italian club are currently flying high in the league after a great run of form, which was sparked interest amongst fans of the title after a long time. The decision has only confirm that the player has received an offer from his club Chelsea, which will leave him free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 1.

"I know there’s a lot of speculation and talk, but for me the enjoyable bit is the 90 minutes like I’ve just played, there," said Lampard after the 2-1 win over Everton in which he scored both goals for Chelsea. The 34-year-old midfielder is likely to command wages of around £ 120,000 per week, and it will be interesting to see if Lazio can afford the wages. Lazio are currently second in the Italian Serie A, but there are massive 10 points behind leaders Juventus and they have little chance of catching the champions.
