The President of Lazio, Claudio Lotito is now under fire after a few words that the Italian entrepreneur said concerning certain clubs in Serie A and Serie B in Italy. A few weeks ago a telephone recording was released by the Sporting Director of Ischia, which is a club that is competing in the third tier of Italian Football in Italy, in the Lega Pro.

In the recording that was released, Claudio Lotito can be heard saying that clubs such as: Carpi, Forsinone and Latino don’t have any rights on competing in Serie A and if they somehow do get promoted to the top flight league in Italy, it would cause a huge problem.

Maurizio Zamparini is the President of Palermo and he does not agree with anything that Lotito said as Zamparini believes that Lotito was talking rubbish and that Carpi as well as all of the other clubs mentioned have every right to strive for a spot in the Serie A.

"Lotito's talking nonsense. Carpi have every right to fight for a place in Serie A. The problem is the president of Lazio suffers from a delirium of omnipotence, like Benito Mussolini’’ Palermo’s Mauricio Zamparini said.

This isn’t the first time that Lotito has been involved in controversial debates or situations concerning Italian football as he was banned from football for 2 and half years in 2006 after it was discovered that he was involved in the 2006 Italian football scandal along with many other coaches in Italy which led to top clubs such as: Juventus, Ac.Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio all being relegated or having a significantly large reduction of points while many other individuals involved in this incident were banned from football and some of them were even given jail time.

This recorded telephone call could lead to some harsh consequences for Claudio Lotito.
