Lazio ended a run of seven matches without a league win by claiming a narrow 2-1 win over table leaders Inter Milan.

Apart from upsetting the top of the table, they have also recovered in the winning mentality that seemed lost for quite a while. It had sparked rumours about manager Stefano Pioli losing his job. After the recent success against Inter, midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has come out in support of the manager by claiming that Pioli has instilled a winning mentality in the dressing room that will be difficult to take away from the players.

Mario Balotelli continues to disappoint as his career in Anfield has been underwhelming ever since he joined the Premier League club back in August of 2014.

Lazio almost created history by finishing just one point away from archrivals Roma.

Lazio have been linked with a move for former AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri after reportedly being unhappy with their current coach Edoardo Reja. This coupled with the irresistible form of their arch rivals has not been good for its manager. Lazio came nowhere near enough the top six positions, which would have given them at least Europa league football. As a result, it is highly speculated that Reja would lose his job before the start of the new campaign.

Lazio failed to make the most out of the match against Hellas Verona after only drawing 3-3 against relegation threatened outfit. This meant that, they are now facing the prospect of missing out on European football. Despite this, manager Edy Reja has stated that he is confident that the club will be able to secure the Europa league spot in the remaining one match of the season. For most of the match it looked like Lazio would suffer a shock defeat, but Stefano Mauri scored a late goal to secure a point for his team. However, it may not be enough given that there are less matches to catch Inter Milan.

Lazio manager Edy Reja says that it is very difficult for him to see the club supporters by boycotting the team and presenting an empty Stadio Olimpico for recently match. The president Claudio Lotito has been the reason for the club’s supporters protesting by not attending to matches.

They reportedly want Lotito to leave the club. However, Reja says that it is very difficult for him and the team to see an empty stadium, which is known for its atmosphere. The club are comfortable in the mid-table, but the success of Roma this campaign has stirred up the rivalry once again.

Lazio put up a superb performance in their last Serie A match against Inter Milan the other day and secured all the three points, but, their manager Edoardo Reja is not completely satisfied by that. He reckons that his boys could have performed better in that match.

Reja has recently been given the charge at Stadio Olimpico and the game against Inter was his first as Lazio boss.

Ogenyi Onazi, the Lazio midfielder, has stated that he would like to sign for EPL side Liverpool if their rumored interest turns official. In the last few weeks, the Nigerian was linked with Liverpool several times after his recent impressive performance in Italian Serie A.

Pressure has increased on manager Vladimir Petkovic after his Lazio team were defeated 2-0 by archrivals Roma in the latest league match between the two teams.

Even though Lazio are coming into the match on the back of a poor run of form, fans were hoping that the derby match would bring the best out of the players. Roma have started the season in excellent form under new manager Rudi Garcia. They have spent close to $ 86 million in the summer due to the backing from new investors. This has also raised the tension ahead of this match.

Lazio almost managed to seal a European spot last season under the guidance of manager Vladimir Petkovic. They also managed to win the title in the form of the Coppa Italia last season.

This was the first trophy that was won by the club since 2009. Manager Petkovic has said that he definitely wants Lazio to achieve more success in the coming seasons as he does not want to stop with a Coppa Italia victory alone. This success has helped repay the faith and support shown by the Lazio fans according to the manager.
