BERNARDESCHI DOUBTFUL FOR LAZIO CLASH

Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi is a big doubt for the Old Lady ahead of their Italian Serie A clash with capital club Lazio this weekend. The Italian international suffered an adductor problem during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Italy and the Northern Ireland on Monday night.It was reported that Juventus are sweating over his fitness ahead of the visit to the capital to face Lazio in the league.

Bernardeschicame on as a second half substitute for Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne during the against Northern Ireland in Belfast and he played the final 21 minutes of the game which ended in a goalless draw. The Juventus winger picked up the adductor problem during his time on the Windsor Park pitch.

The goalless draw ensured that Italy didn't qualify for the World Cup in Qatar via the automatic route as they were piped to top spot in their group by Switzerland thanks to the 4-0 home win over Bulgaria. The reigning European champions will have to wait for the playoff to have a chance of playing at the World Cup tournament. The World Cup playoff in the European section has been scheduled for March 2022.

Juventus go into the Lazio game on the back of two successive wins against Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg. However, their preparation for the visit to the capital has been disrupted with the bad news from the Italian national team camp concerning Bernardeschi. The winger will be assessed ahead of the Lazio game on Saturday.
