Lazio’s Stefano Pioli is envisioning placing the Italian club into a European spot that will allow Lazio on competing either on the Champions League or the Europa League for the next season.

In order for Pioli to accomplish this mission, Lazio will need to secure a top 5 spot in Serie A and the possibility of Pioli’s squad achieving their objective is real with Lazio currently positioned in 5th place.

On November 3, Lazio claimed a convincing 4-2 triumph over Cagliari and Stefano Pioli was ecstatic with his clubs’ dominating victory.

“This week in training, we tried out new things and did well to put them into practice. We were almost perfect in the first half, but as we dropped in level we fell into difficulty.We know that we can always improve, even when we play well, because as soon as we dropped just five per cent, we conceded two goals’’ Stefano Pioli said after the conclusion of Lazio’s victory against Cagliari as the Italian manager stated that it was an almost perfect first half performance from his team.

After having claimed such a dominating triumph over Cagliari, the team of Stefano Pioli was the heavy favorites on defeating Empoli which was their next opponents in Serie A. Empoli is a team that is struggling just to keep their heads above water as they are trying to just survive in the top tier Italian League, Serie A after having been promoted from Serie B.

Goals from Federico Barba and Massimo Maccarone turned the scoreboard 2-0 in favor of Empoli after 55 minutes had passed and FilipDjordjevic tried to put Lazio back in the game as he scored for his team but it was not enough as Empoli claimed the surprising victory.

The team of Stefano Pioli is still aiming for a European spot that can allow them on competing in the Europa League or maybe even in the Champions League in the next season but the Serie A is being tightly contested between a number of unexpected team which are battling for the top spots.
