REJA UPSET WITH RESULT

Lazio coach Edy Reja has said that he is extremely angry and disappointed at the fact that his side were not able to see out the match against Lecce during the weekend.

Lazio dropped two points after drawing the match 1-1, but they could have easily taken all three points had it not been for the late equaliser from Lecce.

This draw coupled with the win for Napoli now means that Lazio's advantage when it comes to the race for the third position has been cut down to just four points. Meanwhile, Udinese could not win their match against Chievo. As a result, Lazio failed to build on the advantage on this front as well.

The game was extremely tight for the entire 90 min apart from the last few when there was real excitement of the match. Lazio tried everything to get the lead in a match, but they were unable to do so until the 82nd minute when a goal from Matuzalém looked to have handed them all three points in the match.

However, it brought out Lecce, who are struggling against relegation, from their defensive mindset and they managed to score a last-minute equaliser through Bozhinov. His goal in the second minute of the injury time means that Lazio had settled for just one point from the home match.

"We did not get the points we deserved because we were not lucid and we lacked maturity at the end. I am angry because my players were distracted late in the game and that led to Lecce's goal. It's a pity because had we taken three points today, we would have taken a good advantage in the race to finish third. Napoli have a bigger roster than we do and they have a better fixture list than us," Reja said.
