Lazio are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle midfielder Jonas Gutierrez in the summer and are keeping close tabs on him.

The £10million-rated winger has impressed for the Magpies since joining the club in 2008 and according to IMScouting, the Serie A side are preparing to make a bid for the Argentina international.

Lazio chief Claudio Lotito is reportedly a big fan of the 28-year-old and is keen on luring him to Rome when the transfer windows opens again in the summer.

The former Mallorca player, who at times has played at right-back for his country, is under contract on Tyneside until 2013.
