Lazio president Claudio Lotito has denied rumours linking Zarate with Spurs. The Argentine striker has been consistently linked with a host of Europe's top clubs after becoming one of the Rome-based side's key players.
Despite Spurs' significant squad size, Harry Redknapp may consider reinforcing his forward line. However Zarate, who had a successful spell with Birmingham in 2008, is not up for sale according to Lotito.
"Tottenham? There haven't been negotiations involving Zarate", Lotito told ANSA. The Argentinian remains a fundamental player for Lazio and there is no case for Zarate. The player is pampered by the club and he must think only of playing."
